Elizabeth Wassunna

Elizabeth Wasunna is the General Manager of AAR Kenya, where she leads the organisation’s integrated healthcare business, comprising AAR Healthcare’s nationwide network of outpatient clinics and AAR Hospital. She is responsible for driving the company’s strategic direction, operational excellence, business growth and partnerships, while advancing AAR’s mission of delivering accessible, high-quality, patient-centred healthcare.

With more than two decades of leadership experience across finance, petroleum, manufacturing, telecommunications and healthcare, Elizabeth has built a distinguished career leading business transformation, commercial growth and organisational performance. Her cross-sector experience reflects her belief that effective leadership transcends industries and is founded on building strong teams, executing strategy and delivering results through people.

Since joining AAR, Elizabeth has led the organisation through a period of growth and innovation, expanding its healthcare footprint while championing digital solutions that improve access to care. Under her leadership, AAR has strengthened its telemedicine services and invested in digital mental health platforms, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to convenient, technology-enabled healthcare.

Elizabeth is passionate about transforming healthcare through innovation while ensuring compassionate, patient-centred care remains at the core of service delivery. She believes technology, strategic partnerships and continuous improvement will play a critical role in expanding access to quality healthcare and improving health outcomes across Kenya.

Her leadership philosophy is rooted in preparation, integrity, collaboration and continuous learning. Having built much of her career in traditionally male-dominated industries, she is a strong advocate for mentorship, talent development and creating opportunities for future leaders to thrive.
